Just as early scientists and voyagers mapped the skies, today’s innovators are mapping the human mind through genomics. What was once novel is now known; biomarkers exist to the benefit of our collective behavioral health. They assist in accurate, effective diagnoses that result in earlier treatment and therein improves quality of life. The Polaris team is working to make these advancements universally accessible.

Much like our namesake, the North Star, has illuminated paths to liberation throughout history, Polaris is a wayfinding force in behavioral health, paving a new path guided by genomics and precision medicine. Only through shedding light and connecting the dots in our genomes will we make meaningful progress in diagnostic and treatment options, ushering in freedom from invisible wounds and debilitating conditions.

The founders of Polaris hold the company’s namesake and origin in reverence; we look forward and forge ahead, but we also gaze back and acknowledge the history of enslaved peoples, honoring that this precision behavioral health company’s founders are African-Americans striving for the betterment of humanity.

We firmly believe that the field of genomics can be a unifying force that allows us to discover the commonality of our shared human ancestry. Despite our unique qualities, every human being is genetically 99.9% identical. At the same time, we are also committed to building a world in which all of our children’s 0.01% is embraced and celebrated.

With a focus on nimble lab capabilities that reach beyond today’s demands and usher in advancements in precision medicine and behavioral healthcare, Polaris Genomics stands at the intersection of behavioral health, mental health, and neuroscience; fields that have historically been siloed, yet thankfully today’s science affirms their intrinsically interrelated nature.

• Polaris operates with the integrity of the Stars and Stripes: as a veteran-owned business since 2017, our founding mission of improving the lives of U.S. military service members and veterans living with behavioral health conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), remains at our roots.

• In 2020, global public health events and an evolving behavioral health landscape revealed that the number of people standing to benefit from advances in diagnostics and treatment is broadening by the day.

Answering a calling to serve, Polaris expanded its mission to encompass a broader range of populations, including:

• Veterans and active-duty U.S. military service members,
• First responders, frontline workers, and individuals in high-risk occupations, and
• Trauma-exposed communities at large.

Our purpose is to serve as the anchor point and compass illuminating the path to our true north — our healthiest selves — through the power of genomics.
